The beautiful colors of fall abound!  The reds, oranges, yellows, browns, and greens are everywhere.  These colorful leaves still hang from the trees and create beautiful, natural stained glass impressions, and they carpet the ground with gorgeous, natural oriental rugs.  The smell of the air turns crisper and colder, and life prepares for its winter slumber.

Obviously when photographing in the autumn, the colorful leaves play a big part, but they are not the only sign of fall.  Witch hazels, asters, chrysanthemums, and even late-blooming gladioli thrive in the fall.  The first frosts decorate the landscape with fragile crystal lace patterns, and many migratory birds that spent the summer in the northern states, now fly back to the southern ones.  The skies fill with both their cries and with their group flying formations.
